See where a domain points
DNS records connect a domain name to services. An A record maps a name to an IPv4 address, while AAAA is its IPv6 equivalent. MX records direct email to mail servers. NS records identify authoritative name servers, and TXT records often carry verification or email policy information. Enter a domain above to inspect those public records.
Useful checks during setup
After changing hosting or email settings, compare the returned values with the records supplied by your provider. A CNAME points one name to another; it is commonly used for subdomains. If a record is missing, check that you are querying the right hostname and that the record has been published in your DNS zone.
Why results may differ
DNS answers can be cached by resolvers for the record's time to live (TTL). This tool uses the DNS resolver configured on the web server, so a visitor elsewhere may briefly see a different answer during a change. For a difficult propagation issue, compare results from multiple resolvers and check the authoritative name servers directly.
