Keep the measurement type straight
Units in one category are comparable, but a length cannot be converted into an area without more information. Temperature also needs its own formulas: doubling a temperature in degrees Celsius does not double the corresponding Fahrenheit value. The calculator handles that distinction automatically.
Check precision and data units
Results are rounded for display. If you use a value in engineering, laboratory, or financial work, keep the precision required by your source measurement. For digital storage, this tool distinguishes decimal kilobytes (kB, 1,000 bytes) from binary kibibytes (KiB, 1,024 bytes), a difference that matters when comparing device specifications and file sizes.
